Initially we have uploaded two group routines performed at the 2011 Christmas Displays. Both were choreographed by Simon Horrill;  Bo-Rap in 1997 and Phantom in 2011.

We will also be featuring British Gymnastics TV footage of our Spelthorne gymnasts as it becomes available.

Family Night returns this Saturday!

Bring your friends along to enjoy a drink in the bar while your children play in the gym

Time:  7pm - 10pm

Cost:  £4.00 per child (£2.00 for siblings)  ~  Pay on the door

Family Night is held on the first Saturday of the month

Christmas Display DVDs are now on sale!  

If you placed an order and would like your DVD in time for Christmas, we well be selling them at the gym at the following times:

Monday 19th December     11.00am - 12.00pm
                                            4.30pm - 7.00pm

Tuesday 20th December     5.00pm - 7.30pm

Friday 23rd December       10.00am - 12.00pm

If you are unable to collect your DVD at any of these times, please send an email to spelthornefundraising@mail.com and we will do our best to get your copies to you.

Playtime is open as usual over the holidays except Monday 26th December.

What A Great Day!

Sittingbourne once again hosted the South East Regional Championships, this year on Sunday 27th November. Spelthorne were well represented with a total of 12 pairs and groups competing.

Chris and Hattie kicked off the competition with a close to perfect routine, and not one of the other Level 1 Mixed Pairs came close to them. They held their lead and won the Gold Medal by over 1.5 marks. A great routine after a difficult year - well done!

Next up were our Level 2 Women’s Pair Beth and Sasha. The Level 2 Women’s Pairs was a strong competition and Beth and Sasha performed a lovely routine taking a well-deserved Gold Medal holding off fierce competition. Beth and Sasha have worked together for under a year and have improved tremendously during the last couple of months. It will be interesting to see their development during the next year.

In the Level 1 Women’s Pairs Louise & Eleanor performed a solid routine and should be very pleased with their performance. Cyanne and Saskia were last up and jumped ahead of the 18 pairs which had performed before them. Another Gold for Spelthorne and a wonderful routine which was one of the top 5 scores of the day. Let’s hope they can do the same at the National Qualifiers in March.

The Level 1 Women’s Groups was another huge competition with a total of 17 entries. Spelthorne had 4 Groups in this Level with fantastic performances from all of them. Millie, Michaela and Alana were first up and performed really well. They were followed by Olivia, Josie and Emily who did a great routine and were so unlucky to be placed 4th and just outside the medals. Our youngest trio of Vanessa, Erica and Sophie were next up and in only their second competition together showed tremendous sparkle and took the Silver Medal. Last up were Megan, Savhanna and Niamh - they definitely saved the best until last, with a truly outstanding routine both in execution and artistry. The girls took the Overall Gold Medal with the highest score of the day - fabulous.

Oliver and Finlay finished the morning with a very charismatic routine to take another Gold Medal for Spelthorne. These boys have been so consistent all year and their constant success has been well deserved.

In the Level 2 Mixed Pairs Rhys and Jodie were up against gymnasts who were older and more experienced. They were not fazed by this at all and showed great composure, performing another Gold Medal winning routine for Spelthorne.

Emma, Sophie and Katie were our representatives in the Level 2 Women’s Groups and showed that they too have a promising future in the sport. They took the Gold Medal in this category with a beautiful routine - such an improvement from their last competition.

In the 11-16 Women’s Groups Ellie, Hayley and Elise were competing new elements and a new routine so had plenty to think about. They held themselves together really well and showed good technique in their dynamic routine and performed a great new balance routine showing real charisma. Good consistency throughout both routines gave them our Final Gold Medal of the day.

With a total of 8 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medal and 12 Faultless Performances it really was a memorable day. Well Done Everyone.
