As some of you may already know, (if not where have you been?) many of our elite gymnasts have been picked to represent Team GB at the Europeans in Poland this October. We are very proud of everything they have achieved to make the team and we are wishing them all the best for the comp!
As you can imagine, all of those sparkly new leotards, routines and travel, costs money. A LOT of money! Other than help received from friends, family or the funds generously donated by the Spelthorne Gymnastics Fundraising Team, gymnasts do not receive other funding from within the sport. They have to raise their own funds, hence why some members have decided to create fundraising pages.
Spelthorne Gymnastics Fundraising, are always first to help out the gymnasts and since starting up, almost 6 years ago, they have been providing grants for every national and international competition. In that time over £125,000 has been given out in grants. For next month’s Europeans they have kindly provided gymnasts with almost 50% of the competition costs, which we are very grateful for!
As mentioned, some of our gymnasts have created fundraising pages for a little extra support. If you would like to give a little, to help out, I am sure they’d appreciate it!! ?
Our team representing Spelthorne and of course GB:
- Andrew and Archie
- Sasha and Poppy
- Max, Dan, Jacob and Cameron
- Bradley, Jake, Jack and Harry
- Frazer and Finlay
- Rhys and Mollie
- Lewis, Connor, Charlie and Adam
We wish you all, the best of luck in Poland, and with the current training and preparation!
xoxo
