Last weekend a team of Spelthorne’s Acrobats travelled to Southampton to compete in the Mike Walker Invitational.

A competition held annually, which we regularly attend and this year was no different, over 40 eager gymnasts were ready to compete their routines.

The competition was split over two days, with so many gymnasts and categories it would have been impossible to cram it into one.

Day one saw part A of the Spelthorne team take to the floor. This young team of gymnasts are relatively new to competition. Although some partnerships have been competing for a while, many partnerships are just starting to find their feet in the competition world. However this did not show on the floor. All looking confident and happy performing to a large crowd.

The grades group on day one seemed to be on fire with the medals and achievements. A huge 17 medals of various colours between them and each one of the partnerships finishing in the top 10 of their categories.

Day two seemed to be a continuation of day one.. only more personal bests and 12 more medals between them all!
