Spelthorne Gymnastics Celebrates Eight Great Britain Selections for 2026 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships

Spelthorne Gymnastics is celebrating an extraordinary achievement after eight of its acrobatic partnerships were selected to represent Great Britain at the 2026 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships, which will take place in Pesaro, Italy, this September.

The selection follows a hugely successful performance at the British Championships, where the club secured five British Championship titles and three silver medals. The event also served as the final selection trial for the Great Britain team.

With eight partnerships selected, Spelthorne Gymnastics has the highest number of partnerships selected from any club in the United Kingdom for this year’s World Championships, underlining the club’s position as one of the country’s leading acrobatic gymnastics programmes.

The selected partnerships are:

Youth

  • Oskar & Eva – Mixed Pair
  • Harry & Diyan – Men’s Pair
  • Abi, Amelia & Darcie – Women’s Group
  • Henry, Joseph, Morris & Faris – Men’s Group

Coaching Director Adam McAssey said:

“To have eight partnerships selected to represent Great Britain at the World Championships is an incredible achievement and something the entire club is immensely proud of. It reflects years of hard work from our gymnasts, coaches and families, and demonstrates the strength of the programme we have built here at Spelthorne Gymnastics.

Being the club with the highest number of selected partnerships in the country this year is a fantastic accomplishment. We are excited to watch our gymnasts compete on the world stage and know they will represent both Great Britain and Spelthorne Gymnastics with pride.”

The World Championships represent the pinnacle of international acrobatic gymnastics, bringing together the world’s best athletes to compete for global honours.

Everyone at Spelthorne Gymnastics wishes the selected gymnasts every success as they continue their preparations for September. The club will be sharing regular updates, behind-the-scenes content and competition results throughout the build-up to the championships and during the event itself.
